Description

As RBW's Quality Control Inspector, you are primarily responsible for inspecting and testing parts and assemblies and documenting your findings. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to maintain high product quality, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities Perform detailed inspections (first article, incoming/receiving, and occasional in-process) of metal, glass, wood, plastic and/or fabric parts using hand inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, surface plates, and tape measures to determine acceptance or rejection of parts. Ensure that hand inspection tools are calibrated and treated with care. Read, correctly interpret and work within the guideline of drawings, specifications, charts, procedures, and other data to ensure components meet design requirements. Assess parts based on functional requirements, identifying and documenting any undocumented criteria and making informed pass/fail decisions. Accurately document the results of the inspections and other data; prepare and communicate non-conformance reports as defects are found. Provide constructive feedback to engineering teams regarding drawing improvements and potential design enhancements. Maintain accurate and current inspection and/or testing records such as but not limited to Material Certifications, Inspection/Test Results and reports, Certificates of Conformance, Rejection Reports, as required by applicable procedure and/or specification. Contribute to the material review board (MRB) to guide teams in corrective and preventative actions, ensuring timely resolution of issues. Assist in the review and disposition of non-conforming material and customer returned material, including rework, scrap, and return to vendor. Close inspections in a timely manner through initiative and effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to RBW (as required). Maintain the QC inspection areas in an orderly fashion conducive to carrying out safe and efficient inspections and procedures. Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization. Develop and recommend improvements to internal quality processes using SMART objective framework (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timebound). Examples include improvement suggestions for inspection equipment, quality checklists, and inspection frequency. Assist in training new team members according to the Quality System Regulations and company SOPs as applicable. May also perform other related duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned. Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to various regulatory and internal system requirements. Skills and Knowledge

Keen attention to detail Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Basic math skills to calibrate and measure specifications Proficient in the use of measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers and computers Up-to-date knowledge of federal and industry standards and best practices Blueprint / technical drawings reading capabilities Documentation and reporting skills Good written and verbal communication skills Fluent in English, both written and verbal Teamwork and collaboration Can-do attitude Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications, MRP/ERP systems, and other common business and quality control-related software Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, stoop for long periods of time Moderate lifting daily; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED (required) Associate or bachelor's degree in technical field (preferred) 3-5 years of on-the-job-training or previous experience in quality control Certifications from the American Society for Quality (preferred) Six Sigma knowledge (preferred) Benefits
