Description

We are looking for a skilled and hardworking Metal Finisher with experience in architectural finish materials to join our team at Allied Maker. This role requires a high level of detail, precision, and craftsmanship to achieve flawless finishes on brass and other metals used in our high-end lighting and hardware. The ideal candidate has worked with contractors, builders, or fabricators on architectural metals or decorative finishes and is comfortable with sanding, polishing, patina application, and protective coatings. This is a hands-on, physically active position that requires standing, lifting, and fine finish work all day. Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation: Sanding, polishing, and refining brass and other metals to achieve a flawless finish. Patina & Oxidation Application: Applying controlled patina and oxidation treatments for architectural-quality finishes. Hand & Machine Finishing: Using tools such as orbital sanders, buffing wheels, and hand-finishing techniques to produce consistent, high-quality results. Quality Control: Inspecting materials for imperfections, scratches, and inconsistencies-only perfection leaves our workshop. Physical & Active Work: This role requires standing, lifting, and hands-on finishing work all day. You must be comfortable handling materials, working with your hands, and being on your feet for extended periods. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Has experience working with contractors, builders, or fabricators on architectural metals, finish materials, or decorative metalwork. High level of detail and precision-takes pride in perfecting every finish. Enjoys physically active work-comfortable with lifting, sanding, and fine finish work all day. Values hard work, consistency, and craftsmanship-sees finishing as an art, not just a task. Can follow precise finishing techniques and is willing to learn specialized patina and oxidation methods.
