Requirement:

Must be a US Citizen and pass a federal background review and drug screen

Responsibilities/Duties:

Have knowledge of airfield runway construction improvements and pavement resurfacing; perform detailed inspections to ensure workmanship adheres to contract, project plans, and specifications.

Perform and support a three-phase inspection system.

Provide daily QA reports detailing all on-site activities.

Review and analyze construction contractor progress.

Ensure safety requirements are met, including EM 385-1-1 and OSHA standards.

Review design, comment logging, back-checking, and verify accurate as-built drawings.

Review and comment on the accuracy of contractor payment requests.

Verify daily reports and project schedule adherence.

Maintain an Inspector's Site Inspection Report.

Assist with RFI responses, modifications, and change orders.

Participate in pre-final and final inspections, prepare punch-lists, and verify corrections prior to final payment.

Experience/Education:

High School diploma or GED with at least 7 years of construction inspection experience, especially in quality assurance on airfield runway improvements, roadways, or pavement resurfacing.

Or, an Associate Degree or Technical Training Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Or, a Bachelor of Science Degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Paving Inspector Certification from the Asphalt Institute required within 30 days of start date.

Experience with Resident Management System (RMS 3.0) preferred.

Experience enforcing EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and safety standards.

Proven experience in quality assurance inspections, submittal reviews, and contractor pay verification.

Experience with Federal Construction projects, especially US Army Corps of Engineers, preferred.

Strong communication skills and professionalism for interaction with clients and contractors.

QARs may work in remote locations with extreme environmental conditions.
