About This Position We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join our team who has practical experience using AWS Cloud Services such as ECS, EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFormation, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch. You should be proficient in Java, Node.js, or similar modern programming languages, and comfortable working with both relational and NoSQL databases. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK, as well as CI/CD automation tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, or CodeBuild. Familiarity with monitoring tools like CloudWatch and Dynatrace is also important. AWS and MuleSoft certifications are highly valued. Responsibilities & Qualifications What you’ll do: Design, develop, and engineer IT applications and solutions that drive efficiency, enable self-service, and leverage automation. Lead application development efforts, including coding, testing, debugging, and deploying modern software solutions. Deploy code and perform environment refreshes to ensure systems remain consistent and aligned across environments. Integrate enterprise systems and applications to enhance connectivity and streamline workflows. Develop clear and comprehensive technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and maintainability. Collaborate within a product team to deliver complex solutions and address unique technical challenges. Apply enterprise architecture principles and policies to guide the development, testing, and implementation of solutions that meet partner and customer needs. Champion a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, driving increased performance and innovation across the team. Adopt and promote DevSecOps best practices to strengthen security, improve quality, and optimize performance of applications and systems. Foster strong partnerships across IT and business units, ensuring alignment and shared success. Provide technical leadership and mentorship, guiding the team in application architecture, design, and development best practices. Partner with Quality Assurance teams to validate application and system reliability, scalability, and performance. The Successful Candidate Must Have At least two years of related work experience for the Software Engineer level; at least four years of related work experience for the Senior Software Engineer level or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the skills necessary to perform the essential functions of the job Bachelor’s degree in a related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the skills necessary to perform the essential functions of the job What Sets You Apart Strong knowledge of Java, including Spring Boot and JEE. Strong knowledge in Angular framework. Proven experience with web services development, including REST and SOAP protocols. Experience in web application development with a solid understanding of Object-oriented programming, integration patterns, solution design, and data modeling. Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across business and IT teams. Team-oriented, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a group setting while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently. Experience in designing and implementing serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, SNS/SQS, EventBridge. Familiar with telephony platforms (VoIP, SIP, PBX, IVR, ACD, dialers, call recording, workforce management tools). Familiar with call center platforms: Avaya, Amazon Connect. Texas Mutual Pay Transparency The base pay range is based on the market evaluation of the job and may include pay for multiple levels. Individual base pay within the range is determined by a variety of factors, including experience, performance, education, and demonstration of skills and competencies required for each role. Base Pay Range: $120,983.05 - $149,449.65 Per Year Flex-Hybrid Work Environment Texas Mutual’s flex-hybrid schedule allows you to bring your best self to work by working remotely and collaborating in the office based on business needs.
