Skills And Competencies 5+ years of experience building and shipping production-grade software, with a focus on distributed systems, large-scale data processing, or data storage. Proficiency in C++, C#, or Java, with experience in agile and test-driven development (TDD). 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud service development on AWS or Azure, including building cloud-scale infrastructure components and REST/GraphQL APIs. Demonstrable experience with distributed computing platforms (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Kafka). Familiarity with ETL pipelines, data modeling, data engineering, and secure software design concepts. Experience with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or similar Big Data/ML platform tooling is a plus. Education BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience is required. Responsibilities Design and implement large-scale, data-centric systems for the Moody's Analytics Platform. Design, code, and test features for large-scale, multi-cloud data processing pipelines with a focus on quality, maintainability, and end-to-end ownership. Develop highly efficient and scalable code to support thousands of active users while minimizing operational costs. Build and operate high-throughput, distributed, and multi-tenant services on AWS and/or Azure. Define and leverage data models to analyze cost drivers and create action plans to optimize platform data usage. Collaborate with team members to plan, architect, and deliver new features and data-driven experiences. Serve as a senior engineer, demonstrating and propagating best practices in software development and driving projects with minimal supervision. About the team Our Platform Engineering team is responsible for building the core data platform elements that enable teams across Moody's Analytics to leverage the latest cloud technologies easily and consistently. This standardization helps accelerate innovation across the organization. By joining our team, you will be part of the exciting work in building a world-class Data Platform in the Bellevue area. For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $116,500.00 - $202,750.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
