State Hospital South (SHS) - Is looking for a full-timeCustodian. SHS is in beautiful Southeast Idaho, an area best known for Oregon Trail and Native American history, amazing fly fishing, towering mountain peaks with abundant wildlife and awe-inspiring geological sites. State Hospital South inBlackfootprovides psychiatric inpatient treatment and skilled nursing care for Idaho’s adult citizens with the most serious and persistent mental illnesses. The hospital works in partnership with families and communities to enable clients to return to community living. State Hospital South includes 110 psychiatric adult beds and 42 skilled nursing beds. It also maintains a statewide program to restore the competency of criminal justice patients.

This position is not eligible for telework.

Any applicant offered employment in this position at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare will be required to complete a criminal history background investigation. Employment is dependent upon satisfactory results of the background investigation.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

Performs heavy-duty cleaning in bedrooms, conference rooms, and lavatories, etc.

Cleans, sanitizes and polishes bath, lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures.

Dusts, washes, sponge mops; sanitizes furniture, woodwork, walls, windows, and glass items.

Cleans shades and covers on light fixtures.

Removes waste and debris from areas.

Selects products and compounds for cleaning jobs; measures and mixes compounds, disinfectants, and sanitizing agents and applies according to procedures or manufacturers’ specifications.

Orders supplies for custodial closets and stocks with paper products, cleaning compounds and similar items

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Perform duties associated with commercial cleaning, including operating industrial-type cleaning equipment such as high-speed buffers and vacuum cleaners

Cleaning restrooms, bath facilities, locker rooms, swimming pools, and similar facilities

Moving heavy items such as tables, chairs, and bleachers

Repairing the equipment and related devices you operate
