Job Title: Maintenance Technician / Handyman Location: Miami, FL Schedule: Coverage between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday (Two-person team, each working 30–35 hours/week with overlap) Compensation: Based on experience About the Role We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician / Handyman to support the upkeep and day-to-day maintenance needs of a 200,000 sq. ft. commercial property complex in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate(s) will be experienced in light to moderately complex repairs and maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, drywall, and general handyman tasks. This is an on-site role with a schedule designed to ensure maintenance coverage from 7am to 6pm daily. The position may be filled by one full-time employee or split between two part-time employees with overlapping hours. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on building systems, including:
Drywall patching and painting
Replacing light switches, outlets, and light fixtures
Basic plumbing tasks (e.g., fixing leaks, replacing faucets or toilets)
Minor carpentry and hardware repairs (e.g., doors, cabinets, locks)
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve issues proactively
Ensure tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies are properly used and stored
Communicate effectively with property management and tenants about repair schedules
Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
Requirements 3+ years of general maintenance or handyman experience
Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and drywall repair
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable transportation and punctuality
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor as needed
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred due to tenant and vendor interactions
Basic tools preferred (larger equipment and specialty tools provided)
