The Associate Director, Psychiatry Pipeline Commercialization & Strategy (PCS) Analytics & Performance Excellence is responsible for helping internal partners and stakeholders make informed strategic and operational decisions. This role leads Global Marketing Analytics and Business Insights to facilitate and develop actionable recommendations based on market insights that address key business needs and objectives.

Key responsibilities include independently leading Business Insights planning, implementation, communication of results, and alignment of brand strategies and plans. The Associate Director will manage all aspects of Business Insights including initiation of the RFP process, vendor selection, study design, contract execution, budget management, and providing direction on the scope of services to be provided by resources.

The Associate Director will independently lead all aspects of project planning, such as coordination, setting timelines, cross-functional team alignment, shaping conclusions and recommendations, presenting interim and final results, and communicating project progress to Brand Teams, Senior Management, and Vendors where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities Include :

  • Serve as the APEX lead supporting Global Psychiatry Pipeline Assets, covering multiple disease states and assets including Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Depression and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Become a trusted partner to Brand Leadership, guiding brand strategy and advising on key initiatives based on data and analytics capabilities.
  • Enable and demonstrate leadership on cross-functional business teams across assets and pipeline indications to make better and more rapid business decisions by framing and prioritizing critical brand questions.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with APEX cross-functional teams, US and Key Affiliate contacts to co-create and execute plans, eliminate redundancies, and ensure consistency of market understanding.
  • Proactively identify analytics opportunities to ensure decision-making is based on current, objective, and comprehensive insights.
  • Lead the continuous brand planning process with a deep understanding of market drivers, patient journey, competition and positioning, highlighting opportunities to enhance patient and HCP experience and plans to address leverage points and gaps.
  • Incorporate commercial competitive intelligence to help AbbVie anticipate competitor strategies and achieve market leadership.
  • Provide insights into current dynamics and future market evolution over the next 3-10 years to guide brand teams in developing successful clinical programs and launch strategies for multiple indications.
  • Lead and participate in initiatives to improve the APEX data and analytics capabilities.
  • Ensure all APEX activities are conducted on time, within budget, and in accordance with financial and ethical compliance guidelines.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree required. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MA or MS) preferred. Degree concentration in marketing research, marketing or social sciences. Psychiatry experience preferred. Statistical knowledge is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience (or 8 years if have PhD or Masters) in a marketing analytics function.
  • Strong working knowledge of key data sources and analytics approaches to gaining insights at global and country levels. Experience developing and executing global analytics and research plans. Experience analyzing and drawing insights from quantitative and secondary data sets.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and thought leadership with strong storytelling capabilities.
  • Analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and creativity in problem solving.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional, global and affiliate teams.
  • Ability to interact effectively with and present to all levels of the organization, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to be agile and nimble to changing business conditions, with strong collaboration and teamwork across functional groups to contribute to a productive work culture. Lead strategically and create trust and respect within the department.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
