Responsibilities and duties: * Tests, installs, repairs, or replaces plant equipment and machinery. * Performs preventive maintenance and safety inspections on equipment and machinery. * Performs basic mechanical work, including sheet metal layout, fabrication, building and grounds maintenance, weights and scales calibration, welding, and pipefitting. * Documents work performed and communicates work activities to appropriate personnel. * Reads, studies, and reviews manuals, schematics, drawings, and relevant literature to stay current on new equipment and updates to existing equipment. * Utilizes fabrication shop process equipment such as drill press, hydraulic press, welder, band saw, sheet metal shear, metal brake, and milling machine. * Follows all applicable policies and procedures, including Safety, Quality, and GMP’s. * Possesses working knowledge in areas such as pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, machining of parts, some electrical knowledge, hand tool usage, and welding. * Qualified to operate forklifts, manlifts, ladders, and scaffolds. * Works effectively with electrical, boiler room, and/or operations personnel as needed. * Reports all work through a computerized maintenance system (SAP). * Supports and participates in business initiatives such as HACCP, QCMS, etc. Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED * Industrial Maintenance experience (at least 3 years’ experience) * Manufacturing experience * Served and satisfactorily completed an approved Apprenticeship or Training * Able to learn and apply Continuous Improvement tools (IL6S) * Physical demands * TPM and SAP knowledge * Ability to work well in a team-based environment with limited supervision * Able to learn and apply Continuous Improvement tools (IL6S) * Capable of working effectively as part of a High Performance Team * Ability to problem solve and help with practical solution Physical Demands: * Climb steps * Lift up to 50 pounds, and maintain balance * Ability to perform duties in extreme varying temperatures * Crawl over, under, and into equipment as necessary to perform job duties * Work from ladders and lifts You should be proficient in: Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills Electrical Troubleshooting Machines & technologies you'll use: Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
