Groen Construction Superintendent
We are looking for an experienced, thorough, and proactive team member with field supervisory experience. Our current projects are typically valued from $1m to $30m and range from multi-floor, mixed-use residential, public service buildings, and manufacturing facilities to smaller scale medical office space renovations. The Superintendent will be an integral part of the construction management team, responsible for building Groen’s brand through quality customer interactions, developing relationships with potential clients throughout the project pipeline, and helping Groen leadership close the deal and manage the project. Groen is poised for growth, and as such, each team member may be asked to wear multiple hats as we grow and develop into one of the region’s major general contracting firms.
Ideal Construction Superintendent Candidate:
- Seasoned commercial construction superintendent to provide overall leadership for on-site project supervision.
- Professional, detail-oriented leader with excellent communication, time-management and execution skill.
- Strong knowledge of commercial industry practices, procedures, and market trends.
- Proficient with commercial project management software(s). (e.g. Bluebeam, Procore, MS Office, etc)
- Proven ability to effectively coordinate resources and timelines in order to meet goals and deadlines.
- Proven ability to maintain a safe and orderly working environment.
- 10+ years of progressive commercial construction superintendent experience.
Construction Superintendent Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, maintain and enforce a project site specific safety program in accordance with Groen Approved Policies and Procedures, OSHA requirements, local, state and federal laws to include all subcontractors.
- Participate with the Project Manager in issuance of monthly progress report, monthly payment applications, anticipated cost report and other financial cost reports.
- Perform and monitor all job site control reporting measures including daily reports, payroll, quantity reporting, accident and incident reports and timesheets.
- Possess working knowledge of all project plans, specifications, Owner Contract, Subcontracts, Purchase Orders, daily correspondence, shop drawings, submittals, and all other project related documents, and maintain a complete and accurate set of as-builts
- Develop critical path job schedules to streamline project execution.
- Develop, maintain and enforce a project site logistics and temporary facilities plan.
- Ensure timely project completion through project scheduling, expediting of material deliveries and the management of material and document submittals/approvals.
- Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
- Responsible for the layout and field engineering in accordance with all project requirements.
- Monitor project progress, address issues, and provide updates to executive management promptly.
- Coordinate daily construction activities within existing operating facilities.
- May review, approve, and code subcontractor, vendor payment applications and miscellaneous invoices.
- Maintain a set of contract documents that contains all the current contract changes and clarifications.
- Develop and execute a plan for monitoring and completing punch list items. Coordinate all required field inspections.
- Ensure confidentiality and discretion across all professional tasks.
- Any other tasks assigned by your supervisor or required to effectively manage the project site.
