Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented junior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records. As an Accountant, you will manage day-to-day financial transactions, oversee accounts, and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
This is a hybrid role, requiring 3x a week onsite at our office in Ortigas.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Financial Records: Record and manage all financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, compliance, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare Financial Reports: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Tax Preparation: Be responsible for the preparation of tax returns and maintain tax records.
- Spearhead Audits: Provide schedules, documentation and reports for external audits, as needed.
- Compliance: Support in compliance matters in relation to the Insurance Commission and other regulatory bodies.
- Manage Accounts: Oversee the company’s general ledger and ensure all financial data is accurately posted.
- Document Payroll: Ensure complete documentation of employee salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions in a timely manner.
- Reconcile Accounts: Reconcile bank statements, other assets, and card transactions regularly to ensure accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
- Monitor Expenses: Assist with tracking of company expenses and ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
- Communication: Collaborate with other departments and senior management to resolve any financial discrepancies.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
In-depth understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and regulations.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Must be willing to work onsite in Ortigas, Pasig for 3x a week
CPA is a plus
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of payroll systems and tax preparation.
Familiarity with basic financial analysis and budgeting.
Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting platforms.
