Schedule: Up to 95% travel required to job sites (home on weekends). Full-time, Non-Exempt position.

Location: Marion, IA

Compensation: $40–$50/hour based on experience and licensing

Traveling Licensed​ Electrician Summary:

This role requires extensive experience in electrical design, installations, maintenance, and repairs in commercial and industrial settings in the Midwest and other regions. The Traveling Licensed Electrician will be responsible for leading projects, ensuring compliance with all safety code regulations and supervise an apprentice and/or a Journeyman Electrician.

Traveling Licensed​ Electrician Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage electrical projects from conception to completion. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to code.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and equipment.
  • Design electrical systems and circuits, as well as contribute to project plans and prepare wiring diagrams when necessary.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Direct and ensure compliance with state, local, and national electrical codes and standards.
  • Supervise and train apprentice and journeyman electricians. Ensure the team adheres to workplace safety protocols and electrical best practices.
  • Consult with clients/customers to determine their requirements and provide cost estimates.
  • Maintain documentation and prepare reports concerning work progress.

Traveling Licensed​ Electrician Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask/prioritize work
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain policies and procedures used in purchasing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Current Electrical License
  • 3-5 years’ experience in commercial, industrial, fuels & petroleum or renewable energy
  • Must be able to work on Military Bases
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. continuously
  • Strong Work History
