Job Description
Work under the general supervision of the Electrical Supervisor in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment operating under Q7A standards. Perform general industrial electrician duties including installation, maintenance, and service of electrical systems, with a strong emphasis on running and landing wires, building panels, new startup checkouts, running and bending conduit, and mounting wire raceways.
Responsibilities
- Maintain devices that provide power to and controls for the plant distribution, machines, equipment, and other gear.
- Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical control and instrumentation systems for various purposes, including production, climate control, security, and communications.
- Inspect equipment, locate, and correct problems before breakdowns occur; use preventative and corrective maintenance techniques to diagnose, isolate, and repair electrical and electronic problems throughout the facilities.
- Repair motors, transformers, generators, process, and PLC controllers on production equipment.
- Work with blueprints and follow the National Electrical Code, state, and local building codes.
- Recognize voltages at primary and secondary levels, exercising proper care and safety precautions when working with all voltages.
- Plan the sequence of installation, collaborating with process/project engineers, operations, and other maintenance staff to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
- Work routinely with electrical gear, motors, controls, components, PLCs, standard devices, and wiring.
- Advise management on whether the continued operation of equipment could be dangerous.
- Train helpers through Electrician Level 2, with the assistance of Electrician Level 4.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Strong skills in running wires and conduit bending.
- Experience with PLCs and electrical control systems.
- Ability to read and work with blueprints.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code, state, and local building codes.
- Experience working with various voltages safely.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and other maintenance staff.
- Experience in training and mentoring junior electricians.

Work Environment
This role operates on a 3rd shift, 12-hour rotating schedule on a 2-2-3 basis, starting at 6/7 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, Missouri.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
