Job Description

Lead graphic designer for all business units within the Office of Administration and Planning (A&P), providing overall art direction. Coordinates and produces graphic art design of high-profile digital, web, e-newsletter, print, social media, and photographic projects that adhere to university brand standards. Designs, coordinates, produces and directs art of educational, informational and promotional safety, construction, real estate, transportation print services and recruitment materials, including publications, reports, booklets, posters, signage, vector maps, brochures, digital advertisements and graphic materials. Supervises print and digital format production and implements university brand/logo integration. Acts as a liaison with the Office of Marketing and Communications to strengthen compliance with university visual identity and branding guidelines. Leads photography and website design for A&P and its business units and assists with video production and social media content creation through graphics and motion graphics. Project manages, directly interfacing with clients to support university-wide initiatives and to advance the reach of A&P, its services and resources. This could include planning promotional events, giveaways, and overall marketing efforts and awareness for a project or initiative. Oversees timelines and budgets for creative projects working with vendors to receive quotes. Assists in research and development of marketing and promotional materials, ensures materials are kept up to date with consistent approach. May help with email marketing development and sending. Serves as junior graphic artist’s production supervisor by providing creative direction to part-time student employees or freelance graphic designers and assisting with client coordination for these part-time staff. Stays current with design trends and technologies. Other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education in visual communications, design, or related major.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in visual communications, design, or related major; proficiency in multiple software packages including Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Considerable experience supporting multiple units with strategic design needs
  • Solid understanding of university visual identity / branding guidelines
  • Works independently and with high level of creativity
  • 4-8 years of experience

Desired

Experience with web design, multimedia content and animation/motion-graphics, and video production. Background in photography, including portraits, desired. Previous experience working with an agency or university.

Additional Information

The target hiring range for this job profile is $64,900 - $84,850 annually. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
