Merric Millwork and Seating is a leading manufacturer in the millwork industry, proudly expanding our capabilities to include custom upholstery, metalwork, powder coating, and stone. We collaborate with clients nationwide on diverse projects spanning the hospitality, restaurant, sporting venue, and senior living industries.
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to handle the daily people operations. This role is hands-on and heavily involved in employee relations, recruiting, payroll and benefits administration, compliance, and safety reporting. You\'ll be the go-to resource for employees and managers, managing everything from hiring and onboarding to workers\' compensation and OSHA recordkeeping.
Salary range information is provided in the post: Base pay range is $80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance, conducting investigations, and resolving conflicts.
- Manage full-cycle recruiting: posting jobs, reviewing applicants, coordinating and participating in interviews, and preparing offers.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding, including orientations, I-9 processing, benefits enrollment, and exit interviews.
- Administer payroll changes, timekeeping adjustments, and benefits inquiries; process bi-weekly payroll.
- Track and manage employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA, and other policy-driven requests.
- Manage the workers\' compensation process, including reporting claims, coordinating with insurance providers, supporting injured employees, and maintaining required records. Prepare, post, and update OSHA 300 logs and other safety-related compliance reporting.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and update policies as needed.
- Support performance management by tracking reviews, coaching managers, and documenting performance issues.
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and HRIS records.
- Generate and submit compliance reports such as EEO and OSHA logs.
- Coordinate training schedules, track attendance, and support employee development programs.
- Partner with leadership to address workforce needs and recommend improvements to HR processes.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance.
- Experience with payroll and HRIS systems.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization\'s HRIS and talent management systems.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management role preferred.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
Work Environment
- This is an on-site role requiring daily interaction with employees and managers.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at Merric.
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year
