Volunteer Role Description for

WordPress Developer

for M4AFoundation Reporting to the Meta volunteer of the Technical Team, the WordPress Developer is an integral part in the success of Match4Action. The WordPress Developer will help update a website/web portal by helping to understand current site functionality and plan, execute the build, test and delivery of the new site/portal. Responsibilities Work with the Technology and Business teams to update/build the assigned website/web portal Interacts with the business analysis team to understand project requirements Develops overall architecture/product design documents, technical design specifications for individual modules and technology justifications for architectural considerations Re-design site architecture to incorporate, default and custom WordPress templates, specifically AVADA Theme Fusion and Ninja Forms plugin customizing PHP code, CSS, JavaScript and build custom components Execute all visual design stages from concept to construction. Customize the site to track project progress updates and analytics effectively. Ensure integration of entire system or subsystem Provide maintenance and troubleshooting support to the helpdesk and/ or maintenance team to help resolve technical issues with production systems by debugging, research and investigation. Develop using PHP code where necessary using appropriate frameworks. Develop secure web services. And integrate APIs, third-party tools as required Create PL/SQL procedures, functions, triggers and associated PL/ SQL or SQL database scripts as needed. Applies standard coding practices and industry standards Skills/Qualification Preferred Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications using WordPress CMS and related themes and plugins for 2+ years. Experience designing and developing responsive design websites Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working web pages Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML) Proficient understanding of code versioning tools {{such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial}} Strong understanding of PHP back-end development Effective communication skills; listening, written and verbal; ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical team members Software Tools & Program Knowledge Should have coding experience in HTML and JavaScript and PHP. Comfortable with stylesheets and customize CSS as needed for a project. Demonstrated experience with databases like MySQL with some experience in SQL, No SQL. Experience with Webservices- SOAP, REST, API Integration, Reporting services, data analytics and BI tools.
