ABOUT FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMUNITY BASED CORRECTIONAL FACILITY:
The Franklin County Community Based Correctional Facility (CBCF) is a minimum security, American Correctional Association (ACA) accredited, residential prison diversion program for adult offenders. The Franklin County CBCF is a 180-bed facility that houses adult offenders (referred to as ) for a maximum of 180 days. The CBCF believes community safety is of upmost importance. Second is targeting criminogenic needs via intense cognitive behavioral programming in an effort to reduce their likelihood of recidivating. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under the Supervision of the Food Service Supervisor, the Food Service Specialist prepares meals according to standardized recipes and written menus; prepares individual trays for special diets; operates gas and electrical food service equipment such as stove, slicer, mixer, food processor, steam table, coffee pot; supervises a crew of to do meal prep, cooking, and assigned cleaning in the food service area; sets up the steam table and serves the ; supervises in assigned chore description; orders food and supplies; conducts inventory, prepares meals for special occasions; and performs cleaning duties. Assists in obtaining ServSafe certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work involves a significant amount of standing, walking, sitting, talking, listening, stooping and reaching with hands and arms. Must be able to transfer up to fifty (50) pounds. Visual ability sufficient to operate equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required; at least one (1) year of institutional/commercial cooking experience required. Knowledge of the proper use of institutional kitchen equipment and utensils necessary; knowledge of cooking measurements, food preparation techniques necessary; ability to prepare food in large quantities necessary. Must hold or obtain ServSafe Certification. Valid Ohio Drivers License is required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Resumes, personal statements, letters of reference, training records, or any other pertinent information may be included with but not substituted for the application. Applications will not be accepted prior to the posting date. The person selected will undergo a full field background investigation and drug screen prior to employment. Interim positions do not qualify for benefits.
WORK HOURS/SHIFTS: 13 Hour Shifts, 5 am-6 pm. Weekends and some evenings required. 84 hours hours biweekly, rotating schedule. Subject to mandated overtime.
