RAND Consulting Group, LLC
Overview
We’re seeking a talented Senior Software Architect to support our sole-source contract for Advanced Digital Concepts Technical Support Services with DLA Information Operations. This role is pivotal in architecting, designing, and delivering scalable technology and data products that enhance workflows, curate high-quality data, and integrate AI/ML capabilities. If you’re passionate about multi-platform, multi-cloud architectures and human-centered design, this is your opportunity to make a real difference in national defense logistics. Key Responsibilities
Lead the architecture, design, and development of technology solutions, including shared/managed services (e.g., Human Resources Shared Services) using platforms like ServiceNow, GCP, UiPath, and SAP.
Engineer existing digital solutions into secure, scalable shared services for external customer access, developing APIs, integration mechanisms, and workflows for seamless interoperability across multi-cloud environments.
Collaborate with government leads, SMEs, and cross-functional teams (e.g., ADC Director, HR, and application development groups) to gather requirements, prioritize projects, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
Maximize use of Lean Startup methodologies, Human-Centered Design principles, and Agile practices to create Minimally Viable Products (MVPs), prototypes, and pilots with iterative user feedback loops.
Ensure adherence to 508 accessibility standards, cybersecurity compliance (IL4/IL5), governance best practices, and privacy regulations throughout the SDLC.
Develop and execute functional/integration test plans, conduct product demonstrations, and participate in Change Advisory Boards (CAB/CCWG) for ECRs and enhancements.
Support high-priority initiatives such as expanding value tracking across enterprise platforms using metrics and analytics (e.g., KPIs for AI/ML features).
Curating data products for workforce optimization tools (e.g., STAT with generative AI).
Prototyping GCP strategies for non-SAP apps, incentive tool integrations, and rapid solutioning for urgent demands.
Provide knowledge transfer, documentation, and on-the-job training to DLA personnel for sustainment of delivered products.
Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and innovation to drive ROI and user-centric outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in software architecture, with proven expertise in multi-platform/multi-cloud environments (e.g., ServiceNow, GCP, AWS/Azure equivalents, UiPath, SAP).
Strong background in API development, integration/interoperability, data curation, and AI/ML implementation.
Proficiency in Lean Startup, Human-Centered Design, Agile methodologies, and tools for user research/usability testing.
Experience with cybersecurity compliance (e.g., DoD IL4/IL5, NIST), 508 standards, and governance in government/contractor settings.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, testing frameworks, and change management (e.g., ECRs, CAB participation).
Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government officials and technical teams.
U.S. citizenship required; active or eligibility for Secret clearance preferred.
Must be based in the DMV area to minimize travel needs.
Bonus: Experience in defense/government contracting, data analytics (e.g., GCP BigQuery), or HR/shared services solutions.
What We Offer
Opportunity to work on transformative projects supporting national security and digital-first initiatives.
Competitive compensation, health benefits, 401(k), and professional development support.
Flexible hybrid/remote work environment with occasional collaboration at DLA facilities (primarily remote, with potential meetings in Philadelphia).
A collaborative, innovative culture at a growing 8(a) firm committed to employee growth and work-life balance.
