Overview
We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll manage our cloud infrastructure and take ownership of the platform's reliability. You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with engineers on ML Ops, helping us deliver new AI capabilities. Finally, you'll partner with our development teams to streamline code deployment and champion observability across our systems. Work Environment
Work Hours: Available to work at least four hours within US Pacific Time (9 AM - 5 PM) and participate in an on call rotation for emergencies. Work Model: 100% remote, but the candidate must be based in the U.S. Work Travel: Occasional domestic travel for company events or team gatherings. Responsibilities
Enhance the reliability, performance, and usability of our infrastructure and related systems. Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy. Have a mind for simplifying unnecessary complexity. Work closely with teams across engineering to promote a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility. Empathize with the people who use the systems we build. Excel at critical thinking and adapt to new situations. Anticipate future problems, without over-engineering the present. Share your expertise with others, but never stop learning new things. Address support tickets as assigned. Participate in an on-call rotation to troubleshoot production issues. Requirements
Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Experience writing and maintaining software applications (not just scripts), especially with Python or Golang. Solid experience with Terraform or another IaC tool. Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI or other platforms. Strong knowledge of Docker and experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes a plus). Experience with Linux system administration. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Compensation
$150,000 - $175,000 a year The base salary range reflects our Tier 2 compensation band, which includes Chicago, Denver, Austin, D.C., Boston, San Diego, and Los Angeles. The range may change because pay bands depend on location. The salary offered will vary based on meeting role requirements, skills, experience, level, and location. In addition to the base salary, we offer equity, employee benefits, and programs. This role also includes a variable pay component (commission) on top of the base salary.
