AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to cloud services. The AWS Capacity Delivery, Supportability and Analytics Team (CDSA) within AIS is looking for a Sr. Manager - Data Engineering and Business Analytics. The CDSA team is responsible for infrastructure supply and demand strategy for AWS's global GenAI and non-GenAI infrastructure footprint spanning 105 availability zones, 33 geographical regions and serving over 245 countries and territories. The team drives compute and datacenter supply planning, infrastructure capacity delivery and GenAI supportability to ensure scalable cloud services for millions of AWS customers. Data-driven decision-making is central to Amazon’s culture. The role will drive data infrastructure and business intelligence solutions for AWS supply planning, capacity delivery and GenAI supportability. You will manage teams that build and maintain our Data Lake and Data Warehouse Systems using a serverless architecture with native AWS components including Redshift Spectrum, Athena, S3, Lambda, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, SNS, CloudWatch and more. You will also build end-to-end business intelligence solutions and create reporting to measure operational performance and cost. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong business acumen, experience in developing reporting and analytical infrastructures, strong communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment. The charter involves managing diverse teams of business intelligence engineers, data engineers, and system development engineers. You are an experienced leader who has led large cross-functional and cross-organizational projects. You will break down large, technically complex projects into actionable plans and successfully deliver them. This role is cross-functional and requires collaboration with teams across AWS Infrastructure. It requires momentum, a clear vision, adaptability, and effective communication with customers, partners, and leadership. High judgment, negotiation skills, influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership are essential. Key job responsibilities

Guide data engineering, business intelligence engineering and system engineering teams on implementing data systems and datasets for supply planning, capacity delivery and GenAI supportability processes, while also managing new programs until automation is appropriate. Create product strategy and feature roadmap via Amazon Working Backwards documents. Provide thought-leadership to Amazon leadership and business partners, delivering solutions to strategic problems. Communicate performance against goals and objectives through narratives and business reviews. Lead broader initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness. Manage a data engineering, business intelligence engineering and system engineering team of ~50. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (math, statistics, computer science, engineering) or equivalent experience 10+ years of experience in analytics, data engineering, market research or related field 10+ years owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition Experience managing and hiring a team of data engineers, BI engineers, and business analysts Proficient with large-scale, complex datasets from multiple sources Preferred Qualifications

The base pay ranges from $182,100/year to $314,800/year, depending on market location and experience.
