Overview The OCFO, Government of the District of Columbia, seeks a Budget and Finance Manager (Agency Fiscal Officer) located in the Public Safety and Justice Cluster (PSJC), Department of Forensic Sciences (DFS). The incumbent will plan, operate, develop, supervise, and monitor the operating and capital budgets, grants management, and financial management programs for the Agency.

The OCFO’s mission is to enhance fiscal and financial stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia. This role reports to the OCFO and participates in budgeting processes at the agency level.

Base pay range :

$143,856.00/yr - $185,265.00/yr

Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee supervision of agency financial staff; develop and revise financial and fiscal policies, plans, procedures, goals, and systems.

Keep agency officials informed of new financial systems design and improvements.

Serve as key financial and fiscal representative; review capital and operating budget proposals and prepare recommendations.

Prepare recurring and special budgetary/financial/analytical reports; advise top-level officials on policies and procedures.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Seven (7) years of progressive experience performing related duties such as planning, supervising, and providing authoritative advice on budget and financial management.

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, public administration, or related field. Applicants must submit an official transcript verifying the degree. If applicable, a foreign credential evaluation of all foreign transcripts must be included. Acceptable foreign credential equivalency reports must be provided by organizations that are current members of NACES or AICE.
