What you'll be doing

Defines design requirements and hardware specifications based on customer or user requirements.

Contributes to the development and documentation of electronic system architectures.

Lead the creation of designs of analog and digital electronic circuit schematics for microcontroller based systems, meeting performance objectives.

Analyze circuits using calculation and simulation methods to assess performance limits, effects of environmental and load stresses, and timing interfaces to ensure consistent performance in safety critical applications.

Ensure successful integration of electrical design with mechanical and software elements of the system.

Complete deliverables related to design of systems and sub-systems of the overall electrical architecture.

Develop, modify, and approve electrical design documentation, specifications and drawings.

Supervise/co-ordinate engineers and/or technicians on assigned work.

Define appropriate test methods to verify designs meet their performance requirements.

Direct the layout of circuit assemblies to meet emissions and immunity performance requirements and design for manufacturability guidelines.

Transition products to manufacturing and ensure robust products and manufacturing processes.

Resolve competing constraints between interrelated functions required to deliver the product to market.

Execute protocols and testing required to validate the safety and effectiveness of the design(s).

Lead troubleshooting and problem solving related to electrical aspects of devices and systems.

Create and communicate design/test plans, tasks, deliverables and status; manage time and resources to meet milestones.

What you'll bring

Bachelors in Electrical or Electronics or related Engineering plus 5+ years of experience.

Experience in electro-mechanical hardware development and design.

Experience in design of embedded microcontroller based electronics devices, including FPGA-based, digital and analog design.

Experience testing electronic devices to meet immunity and emissions requirements.

Experience using CAD systems for printed circuit board schematic design and layout (Altium Designer, preferred) and data acquisition software (LabVIEW).

Specific experience in design and development of sensing subsystems highly desirable.

Compensation and benefits The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 to $143,000 annually. This range reflects anticipated salary and may be adjusted based on location, skills, experience, and other factors? and may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
