BWF Construction
Overview
BWF Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for evaluating bid specifications, reviewing project plans and preparing accurate cost estimates for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure all costs are forecasted and controlled from the pre-construction phase through project completion.
Responsibilities
Review project blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work.
Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
Perform quantity take-offs using digital takeoff software or manually from plans.
Analyze project risks, timelines, and scope to provide accurate pricing.
Collaborate with project managers and clients to finalize budgets and bids.
Maintain cost databases and adjust estimates based on market conditions.
Track actual costs versus estimated costs to refine future estimates.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role (typically 3+ years)
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials and methods
Proficiency with estimations software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore RS Means, Gordian, e-Builder)
Proficiency with scheduling software (Primavera 6 and Microsoft 6)
Excellent math and analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Preferred
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
Familiarity with contract types (lump sum, cost plus, GMP, etc.)
Experience with both residential and commercial construction estimating
Other
This position requires a valid driver's license and a vehicle.
Must speak English fluently
