We are looking for a Principal Security Engineering Manager to lead a team of red teamers experienced in identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities across application, cloud, network, and operational security domains. You will collaborate with developers and security personnel across Microsoft to provide insights that strengthen defenses and protect against evolving digital threats.

Responsibilities

Manage and retain direct reports (red teamers) that deliver results that measurably improve the security of Microsoft Services

Organize and execute Red Team operations using real-world adversarial tactics to validate a production service\'s ability to detect, investigate, and respond

Advocate for security changes across the company by building partnerships and clearly communicating the impact of risks

Analyze data from diverse sources to identify potential security weaknesses and breach points within Microsoft’s infrastructure

Develop tools and techniques to scale and accelerate adversarial emulation and vulnerability discovery

Collaborate with Blue Teams to improve readiness and produce solutions for defenders and customers

Analyze simulated adversary tactics and communications to enrich defensive tactics and threat intelligence

Operate effectively in uncertain and novel environments and identify unknown risk areas

Evaluate and consider the use of artificial intelligence solutions to problems that adversaries face

Qualifications Required qualifications:

Bachelor\'s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field AND 6+ years of security or related experience

OR Master\'s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years of security or related experience

OR equivalent experience

1+ year of people management

Other Requirements Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements. These include the Microsoft Cloud Background Check (pass upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter).

Penetration Testing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range for specific locations.
