The Opportunity Washington State Ferries is seeking a Fleet Safety/Training Administrator to support the training and development of over 1,800 employees across our Deck, Terminal, Engineering, and Eagle Harbor work groups. In this role, you will coordinate and document the full life cycle of training programs—ensuring that instructors, facilities, equipment, and materials are in place to deliver high-quality, regulatory-compliant training.
From new employee orientation to specialized safety and certification programs such as STCW, CORE, firefighting, and lifeboat training, you will play a vital part in keeping our workforce prepared, compliant, and operationally ready.

What To Expect
Coordinate and support the delivery of specialized training programs, including orientations, regulatory courses, safety certifications, and refresher training.
Manage training logistics by scheduling classes, securing facilities, and ensuring instructors, equipment, and materials are in place.
Track and document employee training records, credentials, licenses, and certifications to ensure compliance with state, federal, and USCG requirements.
Serve as a liaison with Workforce Development Leads, instructors, and external training partners to align resources and ensure smooth training operations.
Contribute to training documentation, databases, reports, and process improvements to enhance consistency and effectiveness of training programs.
Uphold WSF\'s strategic priorities (Service Excellence, Improved Communication, and Empowered People) and values (Serve, Grow, Trust, Respect, and Navigate), ensuring they are embedded in WSF\'s culture through leadership actions.

Technical Proficiency
Valid licensing & Credentials
Possession of a valid Transportation Workers Identification Card within 3 months of employment
It is preferred that qualified candidates also have:
USCG Licensing
Advanced Technical Proficiency
Training & Instructional Support Experience
Regulatory Awareness (USCG, STCW or related)

The salary listed includes the legislative approved 5% salary premium for positions in King County.
In addition to base salary, employees may be entitled to other forms of compensation depending on the duties or location of the position.
