Oracle . We need a highly talented Senior Director of SW Development for the Compute organization to help lead Virtual Machine Infrastructure. This role will be managing large engineering teams, delivering distributed systems, operating them in multiple regions, and coaching and growing managers and engineers. We are specifically looking for a hands-on, leader to build and lead OS Imaging, OS Agents and LSE recovery automation team for Compute. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of building a cutting-edge, ultra-high-performance Virtual Machine Infrastructure (VMI) and OS Imaging platform designed to support millions of VMs running on thousands of Hypervisors supporting hundreds of customer workloads. Our team is the Data plane team in Compute Org. we are responsible for designing and developing fundamental architectural changes for VM delivery for CPU and GPU workloads, health monitoring, triage automation, and diagnostic services. These are essential for running distributed application workloads across thousands of VMs, leveraging technologies latest virtualization technologies. This high-visibility and high-impact role will help shape our future infrastructure business and enable growth. The role comes with a high degree of personal accountability and autonomy and will require effective engagement across all cross-organizational functions to deliver results. Responsibilities
Lead a team of software managers and other senior engineers, directly aligned with our most strategic customers. Focus on business planning, operations, health and performance, delivery planning, and cross-organizational coordination to address customer needs. Build and lead OS Imaging, OS Agents and LSE recovery automation team for Compute. Contribute to building a cutting-edge VMI and OS Imaging platform to support millions of VMs on thousands of Hypervisors and customer workloads. Oversee design and development of data plane changes for VM delivery across CPU and GPU workloads, including health monitoring, triage automation, and diagnostic services. Engage with cross-functional teams and senior leaders to drive critical delivery initiatives and customer success. Qualifications
10+ years’ experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems, preferably as a service owner. 5+ years of experience in managing large-scale organizations with multiple layers of management. String understanging of OS imaging, building custom agents and running infrastructure at scale Knowledge of Java, C++ or C, and experience with scripting languages such as Python. Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals. Strong understanding of Virtualization and distributed technologies. Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. Experience building multi-tenant infrastructure a strong plus. Compensation and Benefits

May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
