Duet: Partners In Health & Aging, a nonprofit organization founded in 1981, seeks a visionary and relationship-driven Executive Director to advance its mission of promoting health and well-being for homebound adults, family caregivers, and grandfamilies. This position is a full-time exempt based in Phoenix, Arizona. The Executive Director will embody Duet’s values of dignity, inclusion, excellence, commitment, and stewardship, while cultivating service excellence, visibility, community trust, and financial stability. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will champion Duet’s mission, values, and five-year strategic plan while serving as the organization’s chief ambassador. Key Responsibilities 1) Strategic Leadership & Impact Provide leadership to achieve Duet’s strategic goals, ensuring measurable growth in people served, service quality, accessibility, and client satisfaction. Oversee implementation of data-driven processes to evaluate service delivery and outcomes. Grow collaborations and partnerships to advance Duet’s mission and increase efficiency. Ensure long-term financial health by managing a balanced budget, diversifying revenue streams, and growing endowment and legacy giving. Partner with the board and development staff to increase individual, corporate, and foundation support while cultivating major donor relationships. Guide development of mission-aligned and service-based earned revenue opportunities. Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador, positioning Duet as a trusted leader in aging, caregiving, and positive aging within diverse communities. Expand Duet’s visibility through media, speaking engagements, and digital communications. Strengthen partnerships and collaborations with local, state, and national organizations. Collaborate with the Board President and committees to strengthen governance, increase engagement, and ensure diverse and high-impact leadership. Activate, retain, and celebrate volunteers, ensuring a meaningful and rewarding experience. Equip board members and volunteers to serve as strong Duet ambassadors. 5) Staff Leadership & Organizational Culture Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing team aligned with Duet’s mission, vision, and values. Provide direct supervision to Duet senior leadership. Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and growth. Ensure systems, policies, and technology support efficient and effective operations. Personal Attributes Compassionate, collaborative, and relationship-focused with excellent communication skills. Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of nonprofit or business management experience, including significant supervisory responsibility and strategic planning. Demonstrated success in fundraising and community partnerships. Master’s degree in nonprofit management, business, or related field or bachelor’s degree coupled with extensive experience in related fields. Proven record of growing organizational visibility and measurable impact. Strong financial management skills. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor database or CRM systems.
