The General Manager at Stiltsville Fish Bar is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the restaurant. General Manager ensures the delivery of exceptional dining experiences to guests while maintaining high standards of service, quality, and profitability. The General Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of professionals, maintaining a positive work environment, and achieving business objectives. Responsibilities
Leadership and Management: Provide strong leadership and guidance to the restaurant staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling; set clear performance expectations, motivate the team, and foster a positive work culture; conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure continuous improvement; promote teamwork, collaboration, and effective communication among all staff members. Operations Management: Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of all departments, including front-of-house and back-of-house; monitor and manage inventory levels, food costs, and labor expenses to maximize profitability; implement and maintain high food quality standards, presentation, and guest service; collaborate with Chef Jeffrey McInnis to develop seasonal menus, special promotions, and unique dining experiences. Guest Satisfaction: Ensure guests receive exceptional service and a memorable dining experience; handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally; regularly interact with guests to build relationships, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement; implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and repeat business. Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, revenue forecasts, and financial goals in collaboration with the executive team; monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and take corrective actions as necessary; identify opportunities to increase revenue, reduce costs, and improve overall profitability; implement effective cost control measures without compromising quality and service. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, and sanitation regulations; maintain accurate records and documentation related to permits, licenses, inspections, and certifications; implement and enforce restaurant policies and procedures to promote a safe and secure working environment. Qualifications
Previous experience as a General Manager in an upscale restaurant or similar hospitality establishment. In-depth knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house procedures. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests, staff, and suppliers. Solid financial acumen and experience in budgeting, cost control, and revenue management. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of local health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Passion for food, wine, and hospitality industry trends. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
