What You’d Do In This Role We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer familiar with architecture and design that can clear the way for other engineers, helping our team further pursue our mission of creating digital products, providing hope to others in every walk of life. You will be responsible for tackling complex technical challenges, and mentoring fellow engineers, all while developing deep business and domain knowledge across our products. This person needs to be a natural born leader. Someone who is a tone setter and can provide proactive business solutions through the use of technology and a positive mindset around tackling the business challenges at hand. You’re Probably a Match If You have 7+ years of software engineering experience. You have strong backend development skills, with experience in Ruby, Kotlin, Java, or similar languages (preferred, not required). You have desire to work in the code daily. You have previous experience leading processes and mentoring other engineers. You have excellent problem-solving skills, love teamwork, and have a positive approach toward overcoming business challenges. You have a willingness to develop business acumen and domain knowledge in our products. What Winning Looks Like Cadence within the immediate team on the software delivery lifecycle Build and improve upon effective software engineering standards for the team Architect scalable systems that accelerate delivery while increasing resiliency and reliability Continually learn and grow in the latest engineering best practices Work primarily within backend/full stack code of React frontend, Kotlin, Ruby, and Java backend, as well as CRM integration work Consistently deliver high-quality software solutions with a focus on integration testing, documentation, and shareability Address technical challenges and solve problems that will help stretch your skillset and experience Participate in user interviews to identify customer problems and apply domain knowledge to develop technical solutions Actively mentor and support fellow engineers, helping them enhance their skills Collaborate with a positive mindset, helping the team see and overcome business challenge Other Stuff To Know We’re looking for people who are passionate about our mission.
