On the 24th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks that took the lives of 2,977 men, women and children in New York City, Arlington, VA and near Shanksville PA., Martin County residents will unite as a symbol of resilience in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
United Way of Martin County AmeriCorps Seniors will be assisting the Martin County Firefighters with various tasks for a Day of Remembrance beginning at 7:30am.
Duties include:
*Parking Attendees - Publix
*Jock Leighton Park Assistants.
Following a brief ceremony at 8:30 a.m. a 9/11 Remembrance Walk across the Veteran's Memorial Bridge led by Martin County Fire Rescue.
Patriotic attire, United Way shirts, AmeriCorps Seniors shirts or your team/school shirts encouraged.
Come join us at this free event. All ages and groups are welcome. Walkers and non-walkers are encouraged to participate in the walk.
