Our Client, a Health Insurance company, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for their Washington, DC/Hybrid location.
Responsibilities: Design, development, testing: Perform technical detail design, coding, testing of applications. Serve as subject matter expert in discussions related to maintaining and enhancing existing software systems. Develop and analyze interface design documentation. Ensure compliance with hardware and software standards. Deliver large-scale systems for thousands of users. Adhere to code quality, migration, and dev/ops standards.
Software analysis: Conduct requirements and use case development. Implement and document source code. Perform testing, including automated unit tests and structured test cases. Report on testing outcomes.
Solution development and maintenance: Develop software solutions for enterprise environments. Analyze and implement requirements, perform operations & maintenance of systems. Identify improvements. Demonstrate experience with front-end and back-end programming, integration frameworks, and tools. Assist in estimating application development.
Technical support and innovation: Provide support for high-visibility applications. Collaborate with teams to develop reliable, scalable software. Recommend new technologies. Extend open-source libraries. Participate in product planning and architecture discussions. Evaluate emerging technologies. Mentor junior engineers.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
At least 5 years of experience in software development, including coding, architecture, and requirements analysis.
Strong communication skills and ability to relate technical concepts across different levels of expertise.
Proficiency in SDLC, system integration, front-end technologies (e.g., Angular, Java), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and databases (DB2, Aurora, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
Knowledge of software engineering best practices, agile methodologies, CI/CD, TDD, BDD, and deployment processes.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and handle multiple demands.
Immediate disclosure of any ineligibility to work on Federal health care programs.
