What You’ll Do
What You’ll Do describes responsibilities and expectations for the Senior Software Engineer role. The position emphasizes ownership of software development capabilities, evaluating current and prospective tools and technologies, and growing Foley's technology footprint. The role operates in an agile / scrum environment with remote collaboration and participation in standups, technical and non-technical meetings, and one-on-one discussions with teammates.
Responsibilities
Drive the direction of Foley's software development capabilities; evaluate current and prospective tools and technologies.
Work with other developers in a remote-first environment to ensure quality decisions and collaboration.
Participate in standups, technical meetings, and planning discussions; contribute to team decisions and roadmaps.
Be a contributing, productive engineer on a scrum team within the first 6 months.
Help uncover dependencies across technology groups and increase transparency.
Help triage and debug issues and see them through to resolution within the team’s product domain.
Mentor teammates and contribute to Foley's engineering standards and best practices.
Qualifications
Excellent grasp of fundamental engineering concepts; strong analytical and diagnostic skills; effective written and verbal communication.
Experience with Scrum or Agile development; team-oriented and collaborative mindset.
Significant experience building and running .NET Core 8.0 (6.0+ acceptable) applications, APIs, and services; C# as primary language.
Strong understanding of MVC design pattern; .NET dependency injection and middleware; object-oriented design patterns and inheritance.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain strong documentation, organizational, and planning skills.
Knowledge of cloud-native technologies, infrastructure as code, containerization, and orchestration.
Experience with databases (including Microsoft SQL, Redshift) and deployment/versioning strategies.
Working knowledge ofXML, JSON, HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
