The WoMen of Connections Ministry has a volunteer or unpaid internship opportunity for a UI/UX Designer to join our web development team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with other designers and web developers to shape the visual aspects of websites in an effective and eye-catching way to increase our user base. As a UI/UX designer, we hope you can use your passion for design to create beautiful images and compelling content for website projects. While this can be an UNPAID Volunteer/Internship, we will certainly work with you to receive college credits if your school allows for it. This position is also fully REMOTE, so one can work from anywhere but does require regularly scheduled online attendance. The position prefers 10-20 hours per week Monday through Friday between 8 am EST to 6 pm EST when the semester is in session, and more if desired when on breaks. Responsibilities Below are some of the responsibilities a UI/UX designer is expected to assume in their position: Study design briefs and determine requirements

Prepare rough drafts and present ideas

Develop illustrations, logos, and other designs using software or by hand

Conceptualize visuals based on requirements

Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic

Test graphics across various media

Amend designs after feedback

Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand

Implement feedback and changes whenever possible

Create visualizations that convey accurate messaging for the project.

Determine voice and messaging for graphic design pieces

Create and design various materials for digital and print

Select colors, fonts, images, and layouts

Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner with a quality product

Advise best practices and optimizations throughout design projects.

Collaborate with fellow designers to develop new approaches for creating more-expressive graphics for the company

Work with a wide range of media and graphic design software

Establish creative direction for the company within brand guidelines

Manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions

QA design for errors

Requirements and skills Below are the qualifications that are preferable in this position: Some graphic designing experience

Prefer a portfolio of illustrations or other graphics

Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as In Design, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop)

Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred

Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and web

Experience with both print and digital media

A keen eye for aesthetics and details

Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Attention to detail

Strong analytical skills

Time management and organizational skills
