Glean is looking for Backend/Infrastructure engineers to build a highly performant, scalable, secure, permissions-aware system that makes enterprise knowledge readily available to employees in all contexts of their work. The role offers opportunities to work on a modern cloud-native application stack using best practices, with technical challenges such as building scalable distributed systems, underlying storage, a unified data model for indexing diverse sources, end-to-end security, cost-aware performance, and tooling for monitoring and deployment across multiple cloud environments. Own impactful infrastructure problems from inception and architecture to production launch Write well thought out design documents and robust, high-quality, well-tested code Work collaboratively with a strong team to identify and prioritize impactful projects for the roadmap Mentor junior engineers or learn from experienced engineers You are
3+ years of experience BA/BS in computer science or related degree Experience working on infrastructure for distributed systems or cloud-native applications Key knowledge and skills
Thrives in a customer-focused, cross-functional environment; team player and willingness to take on high-impact work Proactive and positive attitude to lead, learn, troubleshoot, and own tasks and features Strong coding skills (Go/Python/Java/C++ etc) with emphasis on reliability and scale, and well-tested components Familiarity with cloud-native development practices in GCP/AWS/Azure is a plus Location
Hybrid role (3-4 days a week in one of our SF Bay Area offices) Compensation and Benefits
The standard base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $265,000 annually. Compensation is determined by location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Some roles may be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Vision, and Dental coverage, generous time-off, a 401k plan, home office stipend, annual education and wellness stipends, and regular team events with daily healthy lunches.
