Salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Estimated annual base pay: $214,000 (minimum) - $251,000 (midpoint) - $289,000 (maximum)

The Woodward Business System defines, standardizes and communicates the key processes we use to manage our company and deliver great performance. The system is built on five core processes that guide how we operate, and each process plays a critical role in our success.

Role Overview The Sr. Director of the Woodward Business System will act as the lead coach responsible for guiding the implementation and advancement of the Woodward Business System. They will collaborate with process owners on content development and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the entire system. Additionally, this role will focus on developing and mentoring leaders to enhance their capabilities in driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of operational excellence across the organization.

What You Will Be Doing

Business System Champion: Lead the deployment and maturity of the Woodward Business System throughout the organization

Develop a Problem-Solving Culture: Serve as a role model and advocate for a culture where employees at all levels embrace problem-solving as a daily practice

Develop Leaders as Coaches: Provide training, tools, and guidance to help leaders become effective coaches who empower their teams while supporting their personal growth and development

Strategic Partnership: Share ownership of overall business performance with business leaders to ensure alignment, accountability, and shared ownership in the execution of operational goals

Align Goals Across the Organization: Ensure enterprise-level objectives are cascaded clearly and effectively through all departments, teams, and individuals

What We Are Looking For

Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the Woodward Business System (WBS) with a broad understanding of related disciplines

Coaching Expertise: Deep understanding of coaching principles and the ability to mentor leaders at all levels

Problem-Solving Mastery: Expertise in structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., A3, PDCA, root cause analysis)

Cultural Transformation Leadership: Proven ability to lead cultural change initiatives and create an engaged workforce

Collaborative Relationship Building: Ability to work effectively with business leaders across functions, fostering trust and alignment

Strategic Alignment Expertise: Deep understanding of Policy Deployment (Hoshin Kanri) principles and tools

Continuous Improvement Tools & Processes: Mastery of 5S, Visual Management, Standardized Work, Daily Management Systems, Flow / Pull, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen

Empathy and Emotional Intelligence: Exceptional interpersonal skills to build trust across levels

Create a Safe Environment for Experimentation: Foster an atmosphere where employees feel safe to surface problems and test ideas

Standardize and Sustain Improvements: Ability to implement and sustain improved processes
