Description The Senior Benefits and Compensation Manager is a key partner in shaping our Total Rewards strategy. From designing salary structures and incentive plans to evaluating benefit offerings and ensuring compliance, this role leads programs that directly support our people and business growth.

This position will oversee everything from market benchmarking and annual planning cycles to vendor management, open enrollment, and employee communications. With a data-driven approach, you’ll use insights and analytics to influence decisions and continuously improve our offerings, making a real impact on both the employee experience and company success.

Position Summary The Sr. Benefits and Compensation Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of the organization’s compensation and benefits programs. This includes salary structures, incentive plans, health and welfare benefits and employee wellness initiatives. The role ensures programs are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with company objectives, as well as compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. The role will drive RK's benefits strategy, leveraging our brokers, assessing best practices, interpreting key legislative activity, assessing plan costs, updating and communicating plan design, benchmarking benefit plan value versus a group of comparison companies, and reviewing and communicating the value/cost of employee benefit and wellness programs.

Role Responsibilities

Design and manage salary structures, merit increases, incentive plans, and job evaluation processes.

Conduct compensation benchmarking and market analyses to maintain competitiveness.

Partner with HR and business leaders to develop equitable compensation solutions.

Ensure compliance with compensation laws (e.g., FLSA, pay equity laws).

Lead the annual compensation planning cycle.

Benefits

Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, leave of absences and wellness.

Manage vendor relationships and negotiate renewals to ensure cost-effectiveness and high service levels.

Evaluate and recommend new benefit programs or enhancements.

Lead annual open enrollment and develop employee communication/marketing strategies.

Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, and other regulatory requirements.

Conduct employee benefit information seminars as needed.

Create benefits statements to ensure enrollment accuracy and awareness of benefit value.

Policy development and documentation as well as creation of the benefits guide.

Analytics And Compliance

Analyze trends in compensation and benefits and provide actionable insights for leadership.

Prepare reports for leadership, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Maintain compensation and benefits policies, procedures, and documentation.

Ensure accurate benefits and payroll data through coordination with HRIS/Payroll.

Team Leadership

Manage and mentor a team responsible for compensation and benefits administration.

Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition on offers and retention strategies.

Qualifications Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field or equivalent related experience.

5–8 years of experience in benefits and compensation administration.

Experience with HRIS and compensation analysis tools.

Skills:

Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

Excellent knowledge of employment laws related to compensation and benefits.

High attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

Certifications (Preferred):

Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)

Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)

PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP
