Reservoir Engineer

The Reservoir Engineer is an integral member of the Reservoir Engineering function who works with a cross-functional team to plan and implement development and depletion programs that add value to the company. Primary responsibilities include reservoir evaluation and modeling, reservoir surveillance, reserve and resource evaluations, full-life depletion plans, and economic analyses for corporate planning and budgeting. The position reports to the Reservoir Engineering Manager and aligns with the company values: Stronger Together, Own it, Breed Excellence, Do the Right Thing, and Responsible. Responsibilities
Utilize knowledge and skills as a substantial contributor to a variety of issues and projects, performing independent studies, analyses, interpretations, and drawing conclusions. Assist in developing recommendations for technically advanced and complex issues. Identify and evaluate enhancement opportunities using available resources. Perform well history analysis including well logs, drilling history, completion, and wellbore mechanical history, production, and injection. Perform pattern analysis, depletion, steam chest management, and overall reservoir surveillance initiatives. Manage reserves and resources outlooks for areas of responsibility, including inventory management and delivery of annual reserves presentations to third-party auditors. Create asset development plans for execution and future budgeting and identify opportunities for further optimization. Participate in and adhere to training programs designed to enhance HSE knowledge, safety standards, and job performance. Comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, practices, and programs; take corrective action and escalate as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or related field. Experience
7+ years in upstream Oil & Gas operations with relevant experience in secondary and tertiary recovery strategies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Critical: Demonstrates a sound working knowledge of technical reservoir principles, theories, and concepts. Demonstrated ethics in decision-making and reporting. Advanced communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Time management and prioritization skills. Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and resolve conflicts constructively. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and petroleum engineering software. Working knowledge of petroleum economics, reservoir surveillance and modeling (static and dynamic), and reservoir engineering fundamentals. Knowledge of operating agreements and reserves reporting practices. Knowledge of drilling, completion, geoscience, petrophysics, and facilities. Demonstrated positive attitude and alignment with company values. Entrepreneurial mindset with developing understanding of economic evaluation of oil and gas projects. Desired
Knowledge of oil and gas law, including types of oil and gas interests. Experience with petroleum economics, surveillance, and modeling software. Additional certifications or qualifications that enhance capabilities. Well-developed professional networking skills. Work Environment
Primarily office work environment. Routine activities typical of a 9-hour day; standing, sitting, walking, typing. May be required to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Must follow all safety policies, including at field locations. Compensation and Benefits
The pay range for this position is between $107,120 and $127,205 annually based on a full-time schedule. Please note that salary varies by location and factors such as scope of responsibilities, experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market considerations will be considered when offering a package. This position may be eligible for a short-term incentive bonus and a long-term incentive in restricted stock units, along with comprehensive benefits including health coverage, 401(k) with company match and immediate vesting, tuition reimbursement, 9/80 schedules, and generous PTO.
