Position Overview We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of IT to lead our technology operations and align them with our mission and future growth, supporting government and private-sector clients with secure, reliable, and scalable technology solutions.
Responsibilities
Governance, Planning & Leadership: Collaborate with business leadership to align IT operations and security strategies with organizational goals; participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including backup and recovery processes.
IT Infrastructure & Operations: Develop and execute the IT strategy; oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud platforms, storage, end-user systems); manage procurement, deployment, and lifecycle of hardware, software, and related equipment; ensure high availability, performance, and scalability; develop and maintain IT policies, standards, and procedures; oversee vendor relationships and SLAs; lead and mentor IT professionals; ensure uptime, data integrity, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities; oversee compliance with data protection regulations and company policies; evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management: Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies and controls; monitor, detect, and respond to threats; manage security tools (firewalls, endpoint protection, IDS, IAM); conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing; ensure regulatory and contractual security compliance (e.g., NIST, GDPR, HIPAA, ISO as applicable); provide employee security training; stay current with threats and industry trends.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity frameworks, and enterprise applications.
Familiarity with Federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST 800-171, CUI Protection, CMMC).
Proven experience managing budgets, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills; strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Drug Screen Statement : Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen.
Pay Range : $125,000—$175,000 USD per year
