Electrical Project Engineer – McKinstry
We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to be part of the growing Construction division in Seattle, WA. In this role, you will assist with the management of projects, including field operations, quality control, safety, documentation, fiscal performance, and other complex components. Responsibilities
Field Operations: Assist the Site Superintendent with leading field operations. May serve as the on-site point of contact for client, subcontractors, vendors and field personnel. Validate completed work prior to Quality Control inspections to ensure substantial completion. Assist the Site Superintendent with verification of work progress, work completed, and ensure information is captured in daily reports. Uphold and communicate McKinstry safety standards. Assess site safety and implement actions to prevent injury to property and personnel. Obtain detailed knowledge of contract, drawings, and specifications for project(s). Oversee the scheduling and coordination of trades. Documentation: Maintain drawings, daily correspondence with trades, schedules, RFI logs, submittal logs, Observation Reports, and Superintendent Daily Reports. Create and respond to RFIs. Collaborate with subcontractors to assemble site-specific work plans. Process, review, log and distribute submittals. Maintain as-built drawings. Assist with documentation of Quality Control inspections and observations, and ensure deficiencies are completed in a timely manner. Coordinate site walks and quality inspections with the project team, subcontractors, Quality Control, and client as applicable. Document existing conditions with notes, photographs, video and upload to project management software. Create and publish Operations and Maintenance Manuals for the client. Maintain cost issue logs and coordinate with the Safety Program Manager to create and communicate the site safety plan. Assist in development of Scope of Work for subcontractors. Project Coordination
Coordinate equipment procurement with Construction Manager and outside vendors to order and expedite material. Assist with Project Controls, including reviewing and substantiating subcontractor billing. Draft subcontract and purchasing agreements and assist with client billings. Assist in preparation of monthly project accounting review and manage change logs. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Need To Succeed At McKinstry
BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management or comparable degree—or equivalent work experience required. Two (2) years of progressive project responsibilities in a Project Engineer role required. Knowledge of construction management and the commercial building process required. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred. PE or LEED professional designations preferred. PeopleFirst Benefits
