As a Deputy Chief Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aircraft control systems and aviation safety. This role will involve designing, developing, and optimizing the fly-by-wire systems that power our next-generation aircraft. You will work directly with the Chief Engineer and VP of Engineering to ensure our R66 fly-by-wire system is at the forefront of innovation and safety. You will create and execute technology modernization initiatives by working closely with business and technology leadership on strategy, execution, and most significantly achieving our goal of certification of SkyOS on our flagship R66 program.

Responsibilities

Work with cross functional teams, including software and hardware disciplines as well as program management, to support development, qualification, and certification. Develop and maintain the architectural vision for fly-by-wire systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document system requirements, and translate them into technical specifications Identify potential risks and challenges in the system design, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure safety & reliability Oversee the testing and validation of fly-by-wire systems, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and performance benchmarks

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field Experience with fly-by-wire flight control systems design 10+ years of professional working experience in a full cycle engineering role Experience with applicable aviation certification requirements Experience with component level qualification for aerospace applications

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field 15+ years of professional working experience in a full cycle engineering role Experience with rotorcraft design and verification
