$221,360.00/yr - $332,040.00/yr The Role

As a Principal Mechanical/Thermal Engineer in the Network Technology Solutions Group, NTSG, you will be responsible for the thermal design, validation and technology development for the AMD Pensando products in this expanding and strategic market for AMD. To accomplish this, you will need to interact with other key engineering teams such as silicon design, boarding engineering, validation, and manufacturing and leaders within AMD, our customers, and our partners. We are seeking a

Principal Mechanical/Thermal Engineer

to lead the design and development of mechanical and thermal systems for our next-generation networking and server products. This is a senior-level, hands-on technical leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of mechanical design, thermal architecture, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll be responsible for defining, developing, and validating innovative thermal and mechanical solutions that meet demanding performance, reliability, and manufacturability goals across multiple product lines. Key Responsibilities

Create detailed designs for mechanical systems and build/test prototypes to validate the designs. Develop innovative approaches to cool the systems and use advanced tools to analyze thermal performance. Conduct simulations and experiments to verify the designs, ensure compliance with industry standards. Identify and resolve mechanical and thermal related problems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development while keeping projects on schedule and within scope. Manage new product development mechanical/thermal processes to ensure successful product launches on time. Oversee the manufacturing process of mechanical/thermal components and systems to ensure that quality and specifications are met. Stay at the forefront of mechanical and thermal innovations and technologies to provide strategic product and process enhancements. Preferred Qualifications

Extensive experience leading mechanical and thermal design efforts for Ethernet networking and server products, with a proven track record of delivering high-performance, reliable hardware solutions. Strong background in mechanical/thermal design, analysis, and validation. Knowledge of Design for Assembly/Manufacturing and statical tolerance analysis. Proficiency in using advanced 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, ProEngineer. Experience with thermal and structural analysis tools such as Ansys tools. Hands-on experience on latest liquid cooling technologies/approaches. Strong data analysis skills to analyze mechanical and thermal test results. Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills. Academic Credentials

Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred in Mechanical Engineering Location
