Senior Manager - Digital Onboard and Streaming role at United Airlines. Lead the solutioning and implementation of innovative, customer-focused digital technologies that elevate the inflight experience—spanning streaming, gaming, and other inflight entertainment services. Responsible for the ongoing design, development, and integration of digital products that support United’s onboard experience strategy. Collaborate with product, UX, engineering, vendors, and airline operations to align with customer expectations and business objectives. Provide hands-on leadership in developing scalable, high-performance applications with a focus on front-end experiences and service-layer architecture. Expertise in cloud computing, media streaming, and caching technologies is critical. Drive technical direction, make architectural decisions, and guide the team through complex challenges with a focus on innovation, quality, and performance. Fostering partnerships across the organization to ensure technology initiatives align with broader company goals. This role shapes the next generation of digital inflight experiences and how customers engage with entertainment at 35,000 feet. Leadership and Team Management

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, encouraging collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure successful program execution, resource management, and day-to-day operations Establish goals for the team and individuals, including performance reviews and career development plans Plan for short and long-term resource needs (internally and externally) to meet project goals and deadlines Communication and Customer Management

Engage with technical and business collaborators to understand requirements and user expectations; lead development of solutions meeting functional and technical requirements Collaborate with business and IT leadership, product subject matter experts to establish long-term vision, goals, and strategy; develop multi-year product development strategies and tactical plans; foster collaborative problem solving Align with business partners on delivery success criteria; ensure solutions follow architectural standards; provide delivery estimates and updates to support IT performance metrics and reporting Budgeting and Resource Management

Develop and lead the program budget; ensure efficient resource allocation for pivotal initiatives Track and report key performance metrics; use data-driven decisions to improve team efficiency and effectiveness Strategic IT planning and execution; evaluate and implement SaaS-based and in-house cloud-based solutions Identify obstacles early and collaborate on innovative solutions; manage issue resolution related to delivery of technology solutions Ensure Agile methodologies are followed, with ongoing improvements and compliance with code scanning and security procedures Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field 7+ years of relevant experience Minimum of 12 months of leadership experience managing multiple large-scale, cross-functional technology teams, preferably in digital product or customer experience domains; proven track record of mentoring IT teams Hands-on experience with technologies including .NET, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, ReactJS, Android OS, app development and AWS cloud platforms Demonstrated success delivering SaaS-based solutions or scalable applications using modern cloud architectures, with focus on media streaming and caching strategies Strong leadership presence with ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across cross-functional teams Knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, QA processes, and project management best practices; experience managing requirements in fast-paced environments Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship Preferred

Understanding of system architecture principles; ability to design scalable and reliable solutions 3+ years of application development experience (.Net, Java, or other modern language) Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is $137,275.00 to $187,000.00. The base salary range is dependent on factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life, disability coverage, parental leave, employee assistance program, commuter benefits, paid holidays, PTO, 401(k), and flight privileges.
