We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Design Director to join the CADY Marketing and Creative department. This hands-on leadership role requires a creative professional who can seamlessly blend strategic thinking with exceptional design execution, particularly in working with photographic assets to create high-quality design. You'll maintain CADY's brand excellence across all touchpoints while inspiring our team and elevating our brand's visual storytelling through both your own impactful projects and by coaching and supporting team members. The Design Director, reporting to the Vice President of Brand Experience, is responsible for setting the overall creative direction, ensuring brand consistency, and leading design initiatives across multiple channels (digital, print, experiential, etc.). Key Responsibilities
Creative Vision and Strategy. Champion and advocate for the CADY brand by ensuring consistency and excellence across all platforms while maintaining and evolving brand guidelines to preserve brand integrity Collaborate and Stakeholder Management. Work closely with the marketing team and brand managers to conceptualize and execute cohesive product launch campaigns across multiple channels including email, social media, web, and print collateral Management and Project Oversight. Direct and mentor design staff and copywriters throughout project development, conducting thorough design reviews and providing strategic guidance and constructive feedback on design quality and execution Executive Presence. Effectively communicate and present design solutions to key stakeholders through visually compelling imagery that tells a story. Must be comfortable presenting to Executives Hands on Design Contribution. Curate compelling photography layouts by selecting images that complement each other through thoughtful attention to composition, color harmony, and emotional expression Balances strategic oversight with hands-on creative work, especially in growing organizations Leadership And Strategic Oversight Responsibilities
Manage and develop 3-4 design team members (and growing) by providing regular feedback, setting clear objectives, and conducting performance evaluations Recruit and develop top design talent as the team grows Ensure projects meet production timelines, deliverables, and budget constraints and communicate with project team if changes occur Adhere to establish workflow and process procedures and identify process improvements to streamline design workflows and efficiencies Work closely with external vendors and agencies to build ongoing relationships and to ensure design work is executed to specifications Design Direction & Design Responsibilities
Lead design projects from concept through execution across digital, print, large format design, and interior space branding Produce high-quality design mockups, mood boards, and presentation graphics that bring conceptual ideas to life Be the lead designer on high-priority initiatives for our all of our customer segments including D2C, B2B and internal employees, developing design strategies that help meet our business objectives Foster collaboration between design and copy to create unified storytelling Assist with large format design concepts for in-school branded initiatives, tradeshows, and photography studios Oversee internal presentations creation for executive meetings and product launch meetings Provide strategic oversight and feedback on copywriting to ensure brand voice consistency across marketing, campaigns, and internal communications Qualifications/Skill Requirements
5-7+ years of design experience with 3+ years in a leadership role managing junior design team members Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, or equivalent professional experience Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across print and digital marketing campaigns, branding, and large format environmental design Deep understanding of large format printing processes, substrates (vinyl, fabric, metal, acrylic), and production techniques Color management, file preparation, scale/resolution requirements, material durability, and installation considerations Advanced proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Keynote and Google Slides, 3D software is a plus Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to present creative concepts to stakeholders Strong project management, organizational abilities, and vendor coordination experience Supervisory experience including team-building, delegation, and cross-functional collaboration Extreme attention to detail when reviewing design work Who is CADY?
