Senior Project Implementation Specialist - Canon USA

Canon USA is currently seeking a Senior Project Implementation Specialist (Sr Specialist, Proj Implement). The Senior Project Implementation Specialist will lead and manage complex multi-function device implementation projects within a managed print services environment, while also contributing to the development and delivery of new project management and support services focused on digital transformation. This includes assisting with workflow analyses, observations, and recommendations to optimize business processes. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of traditional project management expertise, a forward-thinking approach to digital transformation initiatives, and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Typically reports to a Senior Manager or Director and may mentor or supervise one or two less experienced professional staff. This role bridges traditional project implementation with forward-looking digital transformation support. It requires a balance of tactical project execution and strategic service development, with a strong emphasis on customer engagement, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. The position can be based out of Melville, NY; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; Denver, CO; Miami, FL; Dallas, TX; Seattle, WA; Philadelphia, PA. This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule in which you are in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with the option to work from home the remainder of the week (subject to business needs). Your Impact Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution: Develop and manage comprehensive project plans for device implementations and digital transformation initiatives with limited supervision. Coordinate internal and external resources to meet project milestones on time and within scope. Manage on-site implementation resources, logistics, and activities at customer locations as needed. Monitor project progress and adjust plans to accommodate changes in scope, schedule, or resources. Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies; resolve issues to ensure project continuity. Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and comply with policies and client requirements. Conduct post-project reviews and Lessons Learned to drive continuous improvement. Utilize project management tools to track progress, manage tasks, and report performance. Contribute to the development and refinement of project management tools, templates, and methodologies. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders including clients, vendors, and internal teams; facilitate status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders at all levels, including C-Level leadership; manage expectations and align project goals with stakeholder needs. Collaborate with Canon business units to identify opportunities to improve processes and/or implement new processes and technologies; share knowledge with the Project Management Team; mentor less experienced team members. Collect and apply feedback from internal and external clients to improve processes and performance; cultivate strong stakeholder relationships including with C-level executives. Workflow Analysis & Digital Transformation: Support on-site and remote assessments of current-state workflows; identify inefficiencies and opportunities for automation or digitization; develop and present recommendations for workflow improvements including technology solutions or process redesigns. Examples include: Paper-to-digital automation; Print optimization; Document management; Device onboarding. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience); 5+ years of project management experience (preferably in document management or managed print services); experience managing or supporting digital transformation projects; familiarity with Daptiv or similar PM software; strong understanding of print workflows and paper-to-digital automation; ability to travel up to 30% nationwide. Individual must possess a clean valid state driver’s license to obtain the position. This role requires driving as an essential function, with compliance to safety guidelines and policies. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Certifications & Licenses Project+ or equivalent PM certification. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred but not required. Six Sigma or similar process improvement training is a plus. Daptiv software training is a plus. Other Expectations Knowledge of the document management industry (preferred). Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and client-facing skills. Experience with MS Office 365 tools; familiarity with Daptiv PM software is a plus. Experience managing projects in a matrix environment. Flexibility to work hours including evenings and weekends as needed; maintain knowledge of Canon and partner hardware and solutions. Physical Demands & Work Environment Requires long periods of walking/standing at customer sites; ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
