Overview
Eligator Acoustic Associates, a Business Unit of AMA Group, is looking for a skill Architectural Acoustic Consultant, you will play a key role in providing acoustic expertise on a broad array of projects. This position requires a deep understanding of acoustical principles, building design, and an ability to collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to deliver innovative, high-performance sound solutions. You will be involved in all stages of project development, from initial concept through to design and post-construction evaluations. The role will demand flexibility and the ability to apply acoustical principles to different building types and project requirements. Your title will be called "Associate" within our organization. Role Responsibilities
As an Associate with EAA, you will provide a full range of acoustic design and consulting services to a nationally recognized firm. Your role responsibilities include: Application of technical acoustic knowledge and field experience in assisting design teams in developing practical design and construction solutions that meet challenging performance, construction, budget, and schedule requirements
Consulting on room sizing, shaping, and finishes, sound barrier construction, and noise and vibration control for mechanical and electrical equipment and air distribution systems
Field testing and measurement, data analysis, and reporting of room acoustic parameters, and noise and vibration
Measurement, analysis, and design related to compliance with codes, ordinances, and standards related to acoustic performance
Computer modeling for room acoustic analysis and noise vibration control
Report writing and presentation of data and technical materials in clear and concise language
Project management
Developing and nurturing new and existing clients and opportunities
Professional development opportunities include participation in professional meetings, conference attendance, and participation in technical meetings
Key Responsibilities
Consultation & Design: Lead acoustical design and consultation services for a wide variety of projects, including performing arts venues, educational institutions, media production facilities, commercial office spaces, multi-family residences, and hotels
Project Management: Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring that client expectations, budgets, and timelines are met. Work closely with project teams and external partners to deliver high-quality, acoustically optimized environments
Technical Expertise: Provide expert advice on noise control, sound isolation, room acoustics, HVAC noise and vibration control, and environmental noise assessments. Apply acoustic principles to meet the specific needs of each project
Collaboration: Work in close partnership with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to integrate acoustic design seamlessly into building projects. Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure that acoustical objectives are achieved within the overall design
Acoustic Modeling and Analysis: Use state-of-the-art acoustical modeling software to analyze, simulate, and optimize acoustical performance in building designs. Provide technical assessments and reports for clients and project teams
Code Compliance & Standards: Ensure that designs comply with local, national, and international building codes and regulations. Keep up-to-date with industry standards and innovations
Post-Construction Services: Provide site visits, evaluations, and troubleshooting for acoustical performance after construction, including conducting post-occupancy assessments and suggesting remedial measures when necessary

Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Acoustical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in architectural acoustics, with a proven track record of successfully completing projects in diverse sectors such as performing arts, education, media, commercial, and residential
Experience with the use of sound and vibration test equipment
Familiarity with building codes and environmental noise regulations
Knowledge and experience with 2D and 3D modeling and drafting software, especially AutoCAD and Revit, as well as software such as EASE, ODEON, CATT-Acoustic, HVAC Noise Modeling software, etc. and proficiency in using simulation tools for acoustic modeling
Excellent understanding of building codes, environmental noise regulations, and the acoustical needs of different building types
Strong analytical communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly explain complex acoustical concepts to non-technical clients and stakeholders
Experience working directly with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Project management experience, including the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Experience with specialized acoustics in media production spaces, education facilities, and performing arts venues
Experience in the hospitality and multi-family residential sectors, with a focus on sound isolation and interior acoustics
Familiarity with sustainable design principles and how acoustics contribute to green building certifications (LEED, WELL, etc.)
Professional accreditation or certification (e.g., INCE or AIA) is a plus
