Overview

The Patent Agent provides support to attorneys and clients involved in patent litigation, filing, and preparing patent applications for client review. They analyze and revise patent agreements and assist with appeals, inferences, and reissues. Responsibilities

Draft patent applications and prosecuting patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Review and analyze patents and technical documents as part of case preparation. Evaluate the patentability of innovations. Prepare, draft, and file patent applications and registrations. Perform patentability, invalidity, freedom to operate (FTO), and evidence of use searches. Track the patent application process from start to finish. Review documents to ascertain responsiveness to subpoenas and discovery requests. Maintain and manage documentation processes relating to patent laws, regulations, and procedures. May assist with intellectual property infringement litigations. Participate in interviews with examiners at the USPTO. Keep up to date with legal developments in the intellectual property field. Special projects and additional duties as assigned. Qualifications

1-3 years of experience. Strong technical background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or physics. Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications is required. Some litigation and/or post-grant experience, and/or large law firm experience, is preferred. Qualified candidates must have an excellent academic record, superior organizational and communication skills (written and oral). Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service and a creative and entrepreneurial perspective on IP. Minimum Education
