Deisel Mechanic

*Responsibilities:*
The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.
* Perform routine and preventative maintenance on motor coaches and school buses (diesel and/or gas engines). * Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and manuals. * Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brake systems, HVAC units, suspension systems, and steering mechanisms. * Conduct inspections in accordance with DOT, state, and federal regulations. * Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work. * Respond to on-road service calls and perform emergency repairs as needed. * Travel to different Service Centers as necessary. * Assist with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as requested. * Ensure shop tools and equipment are maintained and used safely. * Collaborate with other technicians and management to maintain fleet readiness. * Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
*Qualifications:*
* Valid driver’s license required; Class B commercial driver’s license with the necessary endorsements preferred or ability to obtain; CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements preferred or ability to obtain. * Ability to pass a DOT Physical and Drug and Alcohol Screening (both pre-employment and random drug screening). * ASE Certification(s) preferred (especially in medium/heavy trucks, brakes, suspension, or diesel engines). * Strong knowledge of diesel and gas engine systems, air brake systems, and vehicle diagnostics. * Ability to read technical manuals and schematics. * Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
