volunteer

family interaction supervisor

monitors visits between children in alternate care and their parent(s) or other family members. The volunteer’s role is to supervise the visit, making sure it is safe and productive. The supervisor takes notes and shares them with the case worker and coordinator. Monthly time and mileage logs are required. Visits are held at a site determined by the social worker and family which may be at the department, in the community, or in a home. Visits can take place during the day, evenings, or weekends. Transportation of the child to and from the visit is part of the case. The volunteer’s schedule is flexible and determined by the hours they want to work and the assignments they accept from the volunteer coordinator. Once a case is accepted, the schedule is consistent. Mileage is reimbursed at the federal rate. Cases are screened to be apporpriat4 for a volunteer. Help strengthen our community's ability to assist families in crisis and create a ripple effect of positive change.
