Are you looking for an opportunity to make a positive impact on your community? At the Thurston County Food Bank, our mission is to eliminate hunger within our community, in the spirit of neighbor helping neighbor. We currently provide groceries to about 6,000 families a month throughout Thurston County! Getting all of the food off our shelves and onto the dinner table requires a tremendous amount of labor. That’s where our incredible network of dedicated volunteers comes in! We are always looking for more volunteers to help us receive, process, and distribute food to the hundreds of households we support on every day of service.
Located at 220 Thurston Ave NE, in the heart of Downtown Olympia, the Thurston County Food Bank’s Olympia Pantry hosts three weekly food distribution days every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
At our Olympia Food Pantry volunteers:
Set up a welcoming, shopping-like experience for our clients
Process and sort produce, bread, and other foodstuffs
Staff tables for food distribution for our clients
Clean and organize our working space
