What You’ll Do We are looking for an Associate Fixed Income Analyst to join our Investment Grade Fixed Income team. In this role, you’ll contribute to our credit research process and have the opportunity to grow and deepen your knowledge into the fixed income industry and specific companies and industries.
Assist in maintaining credit rating, outlook and relative value assessments of current holdings. Ensure information is current and senior analysts/portfolio managers are proactively informed of significant developments (i.e. M&A, environmental/political impacts)
Assist with report generation and review, process automation using programming languages and special projects as needed
Develop knowledge of financial markets, current events, and global/U.S. economies and analyze their impact on industry/sector fundamentals. Monitor industry and competitive environment through research of market intelligence and insights to proactively identify new opportunities, trends, emerging issues or threats
Proactively develop and foster relationships with industry contacts (e.g. Wall Street analysts) to ensure constant flow of information
Conduct fundamental research through analysis of economic, competitive, sector and political drivers that impact a borrower\'s ability to repay its debt on assigned companies/industries/sectors. Provide research insights and credit rating recommendations
Develop historical and projected financial models, analyzing key financial metrics on (a smaller set of) companies to assist senior analysts and build knowledge of relative value of assets
Provide detailed buy, sell and hold investment recommendations to support portfolio managers in making informed investment decisions

Who You Are
Bachelor\'s degree in a technical field (ie finance, accounting, economics, statistics, engineering, data science, business analytics)
Must be able to understand basic accounting principles and economic theory, interpret financial statements, and efficiently and effectively research, compile and analyze information
Collaborative, able to build and maintain strong relationships, manage expectations, attend to details, multi-task and prioritize effectively
Advanced Excel skills including VBA and Macros
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
Previous internship in fixed income or related technical field
Undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or above
Strong data acumen and familiarity managing large data sets and use of coding to develop and maintain proprietary tools supporting investment decision making
Progress towards CFA
Knowledge of fixed income strategies, including general knowledge of bond mechanics and pricing calculations
Excellent abilities in the areas of communication (verbal and written), time management
Previous experience with Bloomberg, including BQuant and advanced AI techniques a plus
Additional programming languages (ie MATLAB, R, Python, SQL, BQL)
Salary and Benefits Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $86,450 - $116,850 / year
Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
Pension Eligible No
Location This role will be based out of our Global Headquarters located in Des Moines, IA. This position will work out of the office five days a week.
